Bishkek: Zonabo Sawadogo, a young holder of a Vocational Studies Certificate (BEP) in agronomy, is putting her skills to use on the family farm in Korsimoro, in the Sandbondtenga province, contributing to improving farming practices and the quality of production.

According to Burkina Information Agency, a student at the Nazi Boni Regional Vocational High School in Ddougou, the young agronomist dedicates her school holidays to fieldwork. There, she puts into practice the theoretical and technical knowledge acquired during her training, particularly in crop management.

'We appreciate her very much. She is hardworking and she helps us with good agricultural techniques,' testified her father, Sita Sawadogo, who partly attributes the good appearance of his field to his daughter's technical contribution and hopes for a good harvest.

For Zonabo Sawadogo, the family field also constitutes a space for learning and experimentation where she can confront her knowledge with the realities on the ground.

Her commitment has earned the admiration of the neighborhood. "Seeing a girl dedicate herself so much to farm work and succeed so well is encouraging. Zonabo deserves to be congratulated," said Mamou Oudraogo, a neighbor.

Passionate about agriculture, the young woman said she was further motivated by the authorities' call to strengthen national production and work towards food self-sufficiency.

"Agriculture is a passion for me and the call from the President of Burkina Faso to work towards achieving food self-sufficiency has further rekindled this passion," she explained.

After his BEP, Zonabo Sawadogo aims to continue his training and obtain the Professional Baccalaureate in Agriculture in 2027, with the objective of further strengthening his skills and contributing to the development of productive and sustainable agriculture.
