Satiri: The president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Satiri, Emmanuel Oudraogo, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to residents with stagnant water in their concessions to address the issue. This directive was given on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as part of efforts to improve public health in the area.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the directive follows a control tour conducted by the PDS, accompanied by the head nurse of the Satiri Health and Social Promotion Centre (CSPS) and representatives of technical services. This inspection is a continuation of an awareness campaign held in July, which focused on the health risks associated with stagnant water around homes.

During the tour, authorities noted that while many households had complied by constructing pits to prevent water accumulation, some had not yet taken the necessary actions. In response, Emmanuel Oudraogo set a seven-day deadline for these residents to meet the recommendations. Non-compliance will result in mandatory community service under the Faso Mªbo program and a fine.

Soumana Traor, a local resident, expressed support for the initiative, acknowledging its benefits for community well-being. At the conclusion of the tour, the PDS commended those who had already installed cesspools and encouraged others to do the same, emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean and sanitary environments.
