Kadiogo Youth Groups Engage in Talks to Form New Municipal Youth Council

Johannesburg: The PDS is in discussions with youth organizations regarding the establishment of the Executive Bureau of the Municipal Youth Advisory Council. The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Koubri, Comrade Samad© L©onard Gougou, presided, on Wednesday, over an information and consultation meeting with associations and youth movements, in preparation for the establishment of the Executive Bureau of the Municipal Consultative Youth Council.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting brought together the Secretary General of the town hall, Comrade Mahamadou Nongkouni, the Head of the departmental youth service, as well as the leaders of several associations and youth movements in the municipality. The purpose of the meeting was to explain the process of renewing youth representative bodies, in accordance with the new regulatory provisions.

The Head of the Departmental Youth Service reviewed the reasons that led to the suspension of the National Youth Council. He indicated that, following a review of the texts governing this structure, the competent authorities decided to renew the various bodies to adapt them to the new institutional framework. The Secretary General of the town hall specified that the new name adopted is now "Executive Bureau of the Municipal Youth Advisory Council", in accordance with the texts in force.

The PDS explained that the members of the executive committee will be appointed by decree, upon its proposal. It specified that candidates must belong to a legally recognized association or youth movement and hold a mandate issued by their organization. The municipal authority proceeded to read the decree setting out the missions, the conditions of eligibility, and the procedures for appointing the members of the future executive office.

The ensuing discussions allowed participants to obtain clarification on several concerns, including the notion of "tacit renewal", the possibilities of applying to the different levels of representation, as well as the conditions of participation of associations whose headquarters are located outside the municipality. The responses provided by officials were based on the applicable regulatory provisions.

On this occasion, Comrade Samad© L©onard Gougou invited young people to prioritize the common good. "The youth of Koubri must definitively turn the page on old practices and engage in a dynamic of dialogue, unity, and responsibility. Our ambition is to establish a representative, credible office capable of defending the interests of all the youth of the commune in a spirit of cohesion and patriotism," he declared.

Application forms have been distributed to representatives of the various organizations. Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, July 17, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Taking advantage of this platform, the PDS also reminded everyone of the march in support of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, scheduled for Saturday, July 18, starting at 8 a.m., before inviting participants to continue their commitment to reforestation efforts and to take part in the weekly aerobics sessions organized every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the grounds of the new town hall.
