Kompienga/Youth Tournament: Team from Sector No. 1 of Pama Crowned Champions by 5 Goals to 4

Kompienga: The first edition of the maracana tournament for up-and-coming athletes reached its climax this Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Pama, in the presence of local officials and residents. The team from Pama's Sector 1 was crowned champion after a penalty shootout, defeating the Sector 2 team 5-4.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament was initiated on December 31, 2025, by the provincial director of sports, Dramane Kafando. The event was held under the patronage of the High Commissioner of Kompienga Province, Ismael Ouattara, represented by the Secretary General, Issa Dabon.

The competition featured six teams, including those from various sectors of Pama and teams composed of internally displaced persons residing in Pama. This event aimed to uncover talent among under-16s and provide the local population with an opportunity to experience the excitement of local football.

The final match concluded with a penalty shootout, where the team from Pama Sector 1 emerged victorious over the team from Sector 2 with a 5-4 scoreline.
