Soudougui: Women and girls from the commune of Soudougui, in the province of Koulplogo, mobilized on Sunday, August 23, 2026, to plow the field of an internally displaced woman (IDP) living with a motor disability. Armed with hoes, the participants entered the field at 8 a.m. to help the beneficiary, whose physical condition does not allow her to carry out fieldwork alone.

According to Burkina Information Agency, while the women were plowing, the younger girls gathered the weeds to help the work progress. The activities continued until 4 p.m. Through this initiative, the women intend to translate into action their solidarity and mutual support towards internally displaced persons, particularly those who are in a vulnerable situation.

For the initiators, this action also constitutes a way to strengthen social cohesion and living together between IDPs and the host populations of the commune of Soudougui. The participants praised the efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and the BIR 30, who work daily for security and peace in the commune.

This mobilization thus demonstrates the will of the communities of Soudougui to leave no one behind in the face of difficulties and to make solidarity a lever of resilience.
