Kourittenga: As part of the patriotic immersion launched by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, high school graduates in the province of Kourittenga received training on combating violent extremism in Koup©la. This initiative was witnessed by the governor of the Nakamb© region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, and provincial administrative authorities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training aimed to empower the graduates to effectively address issues related to violent extremism. Dr. Yacouba Cissao, a researcher at the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research - Institute of Social Sciences (CNRST/INSS), led the session, emphasizing the potential positive impact on society. The training focused on educating the graduates about radicalization and violent extremism, equipping them to recognize signs of potential radicalization and engage in preventive discussions within their social circles.
Dr. Cissao highlighted the importance of the training in enabling young graduates to become active participants in counter-terrorism efforts. The provincial director in charge of secondary education in Kourittenga, Dieudonn© Belemsigri, praised the graduates' active participation and offered guidance to encourage their commitment.
The governor of the Nakamb© region, Colonel Lamizana, urged the graduates to embody patriotism and promote values such as solidarity and social cohesion. He stressed the importance of teamwork and mutual support, encouraging the graduates to foster a spirit of unity and discipline. The patriotic immersion program, which began on August 11 and will conclude on September 11, 2025, is exclusively for new high school graduates from Burkina Faso, aiming to instill strong moral and civic values.
