Ouagadougou: Local authorities are mobilizing the vital forces around social cohesion and patriotism. The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Arbinda, Comrade Lazard KIEME, presided, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the meeting room of the town hall, over a meeting of exchanges with the vital forces of the commune.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the commander of BIR 28, the brigade commander, the directors, and heads of department took part in this meeting. The meeting is part of a dynamic of strengthening dialogue between the authorities, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the populations, with a view to consolidating social cohesion, living together, and civic engagement in the municipality.
In his speech, Comrade Lazard KIEME urged the people to prioritize unity and the common good in order to move the community forward. He called on everyone to show patriotism, to reject hate speech, divisions, and slander, stressing that the development and stability of Arbinda depend on the commitment of all.
The PDS also indicated that measures will be taken against any person whose actions or behavior undermine social cohesion and efforts to preserve peace in the municipality. Addressing the issue of supplies, Chief Warrant Officer Ouedraogo Idrissa denounced the speculative practices observed on basic necessities. He lamented that, just days after the arrival of the supply convoys, some products disappeared from the markets before being resold clandestinely at prices far exceeding their normal price.
He urged the public to report these practices and not to encourage them. As an example, he indicated that a product normally sold for 500 FCFA should not be bought for 2,000 FCFA, arguing that the buyer also contributes to fueling this speculation. He warned those responsible for these practices of the penalties that will apply.
Speaking on behalf of the youth, the head of the Citizen Watch youth group, Comrade Adama Maga, praised the initiative of the municipal authorities. He called on the young people of Arbinda not to be swayed by political considerations that could sow division, urging them to prioritize the common good, unity, and the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution.
The participants reaffirmed their willingness to support local authorities in all initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion, patriotism, and the resilience of the community in the face of security and socio-economic challenges.
