Banwa: A local son donates two ambulances to the primary healthcare centers to facilitate patient evacuation
The governor of the Yaadga region, Thomas Yampa, presided over a significant ceremony in Gourcy, marking the handover of two medicalized ambulances. These ambulances were generously donated by Moussa Ou©draogo, CEO of Nobila Kabem Moto, to the Health and Social Promotion Centers (CSPS) to aid in patient evacuation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony witnessed attendance from administrative and traditional authorities, as well as a large gathering of the local community. The ambulances are designated for the Ridimbo Health and Social Promotion Center in the commune of Tougo and the Mako Health and Social Promotion Center in the commune of Gourcy.
Moussa Ou©draogo expressed that the donation reflects a sense of solidarity with the community and aims to contribute to the healthcare of citizens. Constantin Bassana Bationo, Chief Medical Officer of the Gourcy Health District, acknowledged the donation’s significance, highlighting its role in enhancing the district’s capacity and addressing the healthcare needs of a population exceeding 290,000 across 42 health facilities.
The ceremony’s sponsor, Alouna Traor©, hailed the donation as a patriotic gesture aligning with the vision of the popular progressive revolution, which encourages active community involvement in development. Governor Thomas Yampa applauded the community’s response and emphasized responsible management of the ambulances, urging collaboration with health officials to extend benefits to the entire Zondoma population.
The governor also praised the initiatives in Zondoma, supported by customary authorities and citizen vigilance, aligning with revolutionary ideals. He encouraged others from the Yaadga Region to emulate such contributions, before proceeding with the official handover of the vehicle keys.
Moussa Ou©draogo is known for his philanthropic efforts, having previously drilled boreholes in Mako and donated motorcycles to Zondoma’s fighting forces and other key actors in Bobo Dioulasso. During the ceremony, additional donations included ten medical mattresses and funds for ambulance fuel.
