Loroum: Development stakeholders welcome the results of the projects and call for strengthening social cohesion: Development actors in the province of Loroum reviewed, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in Titao, the interventions of several projects and humanitarian organizations during the first ordinary session of the year 2026 of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP), before launching an appeal for the consolidation of peace, living together and social cohesion.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was presided over by the High Commissioner of the province of Loroum, Captain Djibril Bassole, and brought together a diverse group of participants, including decentralized technical services of the State, presidents of special delegations, NGOs, associations, community leaders, and technical and financial partners. The session was aimed at enhancing the coordination of interventions by development actors, promoting synergy of actions for the benefit of the local population.
Participants at the meeting engaged with presentations from RASPA/ALIMA, Terre des Hommes (Tdh), EDUCO, and Tabital Association projects. These presentations focused on key areas such as nutritional care, educational continuity, strengthening social cohesion, and providing assistance to vulnerable groups. Additionally, there was a presentation on solidarity and living together as part of the Popular Progressive Revolution (PPR).
Captain Bassole expressed his contentment with the outcomes achieved so far. He noted the substantial progress made by the projects operating in Loroum province, emphasizing the positive impact on vulnerable populations, particularly in terms of socio-economic recovery for women. He encouraged continued efforts from partners to alleviate ongoing challenges in the security and humanitarian context.
The High Commissioner underscored the importance of consolidating social cohesion and supporting development initiatives. He called upon the local population to foster a spirit of living together, warning that current efforts to live together do not always reflect unity of spirit.
Participants, including Abdoulaye Ouedraogo, representative of the Association for the Development of the Province of Loroum (ADPL), and Rabiatou Ouedraogo, a representative of the women in the province, echoed the sentiment of unity and collaboration. They emphasized the need for collective commitment to overcome challenges and achieve sustainable development.
Harouna Niampa, vice-president of the special delegation of Ouindigui, also stressed the importance of unity in facing security issues, advocating for cohesion as a means to support local authorities and preserve the province.
The session offered a platform for harmonizing interventions, acknowledging the achievements of current projects, and reaffirming a shared commitment to development, resilience, and peace in Loroum province.
