Koudougou: As the second edition of the Mandatory Patriotic Immersion (IPO) approaches, the organizing committee of the Nando region held a decisive working session with the national technical secretariat on Friday in Koudougou. This coordination meeting, chaired by the regional governor, Adama Jean-Yves Bere, provided an opportunity to take stock of the preparations, anticipate logistical challenges, and consolidate operational measures to ensure the success of this year's event.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ouagadougou delegation shared key details about the 2026 edition and the official guidelines through two presentations. The concerns of regional organizations were also brought to the delegation's attention, allowing the head of the national delegation, Abdoul Aziz Ouedraogo, to provide significant details about this year's event, themed "Engaged, Conscious, and Patriotic Youth." The 2026 immersion program is confirmed to take place from July 27 to August 26, totaling 30 days. A digital platform, supported by the Ministry of Digital Transition, will be launched to allow centralized management of registrations, including those of high school graduates residing abroad and candidates from the previous session.
Training modules have been enriched and logistical support optimized, drawing on lessons from last year's pilot program. Governor Bere emphasized the importance of synergy between national directives and local authorities' ingenuity for the success of the IPO program. He encouraged parents to trust the government program and stressed creating optimal reception and training conditions. "The goal is to train a disciplined, committed Burkinab¨ citizen, resolutely oriented towards the values promoted by the highest authorities in the country," he stated.
In the Nando region, preparations are well underway, with future conscripts set to be distributed across 12 separate sites: 8 in Koudougou, 2 in Reo, and 2 in Leo. This preparatory meeting confirms the commitment of local stakeholders to fully embrace the program, ensuring a structured immersion experience for the region's youth.
