Ouagadougou: A delegation of members of the People's Legislative Assembly (ALP), led by MP Ibrahim Traor, paid a visit of encouragement on Friday, August 21, 2026, to the fighting forces of the Bissanderou military detachment in the commune of Tchriba. The elected officials went to express the nation's gratitude to the soldiers, learn about their living conditions, and hear their concerns.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was aimed at providing firsthand insights into the realities faced by the fighters, understanding their difficulties, and gathering their concerns to present them to competent authorities. MP Ibrahim Traor, the head of the mission, emphasized the importance of recognizing the commitment and sacrifices made by these soldiers for the defense of the homeland.

MP Traor highlighted the soldiers' dedication to serving the nation, displaying courage and patriotism. He stated that the visit symbolizes solidarity and support for the forces engaged in securing and reclaiming national territory. Discussions during the visit addressed several concerns related to the soldiers' living and working conditions, including logistics, lighting, and water access.

The Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) also voiced their grievances, seeking increased bonuses and more support from the state for their families, particularly in terms of their children's education and access to schools. In response, the delegation assured the fighters that their concerns would be brought to the attention of the authorities.

The regional coordinator of the Brigade of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (BVDP), Commander Ambroise Belemkoabga, emphasized the importance of fighters paying attention to their health and promptly reporting any issues. He also raised concerns about the need for a water supply and better lighting for the detachment.

The mission praised the people of Tchriba, especially those in Bissanderou, for their support in establishing and operating the military detachment. The community contributed by providing land and participating in infrastructure development for the benefit of the fighting forces. Concluding the visit, MP Traor stated that defending the homeland is a collective responsibility requiring the collaboration of all national forces.
