Ouagadougou: The municipality of Ouarkoye has established a Municipal Executive Bureau (BEC) for Youth, aiming to enhance youth participation in local governance and municipal development. According to Burkina Information Agency, the establishment of this bureau followed a consultation process involving various youth organizations within the municipality.
The installation ceremony was led by Idrissa Ganam, President of the special delegation of the commune of Ouarkoye. The event saw attendance from heads of youth structures and numerous young individuals from different villages within the commune. This initiative marks the culmination of an information and consultation process designed to ensure a consensual and inclusive appointment of bureau members, as outlined in the interministerial decree governing the creation and operation of the National Youth Advisory Council of Burkina Faso.
The newly appointed Municipal Executive Bureau consists of seven members, headed by Clment Dedou Tamini. The vice-president is Hamidou Mand, with Kamana Sylvain Tamini as secretary general, Joseline Mana as treasurer general, Loucmane Zall handling information and communication, Kayoro Justin Tamini managing organization, and Christophe Dignizou Bonzi overseeing sustainable development and environmental issues.
Idrissa Ganam commended the bureau members for the trust bestowed upon them and urged them to exhibit responsibility, availability, discipline, and unity to meet the expectations of Ouarkoye's youth effectively. He also emphasized the municipality's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth civic engagement and local development contributions.
Clment Dedou Tamini, on behalf of the Municipal Executive Bureau, expressed gratitude for the confidence shown in his team. He stated that the office is dedicated to fostering a united and responsible youth committed to community development. The BEC plans to operate with a focus on inclusion, consultation, and transparency, prioritizing youth entrepreneurship, civic engagement, social cohesion, environmental protection, and the promotion of local initiatives.
With the establishment of this new body, Ouarkoye's youth now have an official platform for representation and dialogue with local authorities, enhancing their role in the municipality's development actions.
