National public speaking debate: Official launch of the inter-establishment public speaking debate competition

Bobo-Dioulasso: The Association of young actors for the reproductive health of adolescents and young people (AJASSRAJ), launched, on Saturday March 2, 2024 at the Aube Nouvelle University of Bobo-Dioulasso, the 2nd edition of the competition national oratorical debates. Entitled 'Without taboo', this competition is part of the training and awareness project on the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young people in Hauts-Bassins.The 2nd edition of the 'without taboo' debates opened its doors this Saturday March 2, 2024 at the Aube Nouvelle University in Bobo-Dioulasso.This competition, according to its initiators, is part of the training and awareness project on the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young people in the Hauts-Bassins.It is the initiative of the Association of Young Actors for the Reproductive Health of Adolescents and Young People (AJASSRAJ). This edition was placed under the theme 'Law, sexual and reproductive health in a health crisis'.According to the p resident of the organizing committee, Ben Abbu Bakr Faïcal Ouattara, there will be direct elimination phases which will pit registered establishments from Bobo-Dioulasso against each other in order to determine the finalists.His expectations, according to him, are to ultimately have young people 'sufficiently informed' about sexuality.'When we have to talk about sexuality with adults, they find it a taboo subject to be silenced, and yet young people are left to their own devices,' noted Mr. Ouattara.As a result, continued Ben Abbu Bakr Faïcal Ouattara, young people are discovering sexuality with the disadvantages that go with it, such as unwanted pregnancies or even sexually transmitted infections.'All this because young people are not sufficiently informed about the dangers of sexuality,' he said.'Sans taboo' is therefore intended to be a platform for expression to provide sufficient information to young people about sexuality. 30 schools in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso are in competition, announced the organizing committee.For the launch, two groups competed, the team from the Burkina Faso Family Welfare Association (ABBEF) against the team from Twellium Industrie. The ABBF team emerged victorious.As a reminder, the first edition was won by the Municipal Vinama Thiémounou Djibril high school.Source: Burkina Information Agency
