New Graduates in Djibo Undergo Patriotic Immersion Program to Foster Citizenship and Discipline

Djibo: Thirty young high school graduates, including 18 boys and 12 girls, are participating in a month-long patriotic immersion program in Djibo, the capital of Soum province, which began on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The initiative aims to instill values of citizenship, discipline, and patriotism among the new graduates.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the official inauguration of this program was marked by a ceremony led by the High Commissioner of Soum Province, Wilfried Tougma. The event was attended by various administrative and traditional authorities, alongside department heads. This patriotic immersion program is a national initiative intended to develop conscious and committed youth who can contribute positively to nation-building.

Throughout the month, participants will engage in civic and moral training, emphasizing discipline, solidarity, respect for institutions, and social cohesion. The program also includes awareness sessions addressing national challenges and strategies for participants to become responsible citizens.

The High Commissioner commended the launch of this initiative and encouraged the young participants to fully utilize this valuable experience. Wilfried Tougma also praised the program supervisors for their dedication to imparting essential values of communal living and patriotism to the participants.

This patriotic immersion is part of the broader effort to enhance national resilience and promote youth involvement in Burkina Faso's development journey.
