Pharmacists Organize Blood Drive to Address Health Emergency

Bobo-Dioulasso:The Bobo-Dioulasso Regional Council of the Order of Pharmacists (CROP-Bobo) organized a blood drive on Saturday, September 26, 2026, aiming to relieve the pressure on the Regional Blood Transfusion Center (CRTS) and conclude the 72-hour activities of World Pharmacist Day.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Casimir Hiema, Secretary General of the Regional Council of the Order of Pharmacists of Western France, emphasized that the initiative was a response to a significant health emergency due to the current high demand for blood in hospitals. The event included a blood drive and an Open House as part of the World Pharmacist Day celebrations, which occur every September 25th.

Dr. Hiema highlighted that the initiative aligns with the profession's vision of "Strengthening the Role of Pharmacists for a Healthier Future." He noted that the blood donation efforts were crucial for enabling patients to regain health.
