Police Transfer Security Premises to Gendarmerie in Douna

Abuja: The Police hand over the security premises to the Gendarmerie in Douna The administrative and security authorities of the commune of Douna, located about ten kilometers from Sindou, presided over the handover ceremony between the police district and the gendarmerie company. This event, marked by the official handover of the keys to the security premises to the National Gendarmerie, took place on Friday, July 24, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony brought together the administrative, traditional, and security authorities of the province, alongside locals who attended the event. During the ceremony, the head of the police district symbolically handed over the keys to the commander of the gendarmerie brigade, thus formalizing the transfer of infrastructure intended for security missions in the municipality.

Officials from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) emphasized the importance of close collaboration between the various bodies involved in the protection of people and property. They also reaffirmed their joint commitment to fighting insecurity and preserving social peace.

The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Douna, Abdoul Aziz Karambiri, praised the spirit of cooperation that prevailed throughout this handover. He urged the population to support the security forces through trust, vigilance, and citizen cooperation.

Traditional authorities and representatives of the population expressed satisfaction with the strengthening of security measures in the municipality. They extended their wishes of success to the members of the Gendarmerie called upon to serve in the locality.

The ceremony concluded with a tour of the premises and discussions between the different delegations. This handover of responsibilities is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen security measures in the province of L©raba.
