VDP in Yargatenga Receive Construction Materials to Enhance Forward Operating Bases

Abuja: The Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) of the commune of Yargatenga received a substantial batch of construction materials from the Hurnogo Association of Youth for Development and Social Cohesion (AHJDCS) to bolster their working conditions. This donation aims to strengthen the infrastructure of their forward operating bases.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony was held at the Yargatenga territorial gendarmerie brigade, with the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Mahamadou Saramb©, presiding. The event was attended by the head of the gendarmerie brigade and the head of the Yargatenga detachment. The donation includes sheets of metal, rafters, planks, and iron posts intended for constructing three hangars for the communal VDP's advanced posts.

AHJDCS officials stated that this marks the second time the association has extended support to the VDP this July, underscoring its commitment to the forces working towards the security of the commune.

Mahamadou Saramb© praised the solidarity shown by the youth, emphasizing that the fight against terrorism requires the involvement of the entire population, not just the security forces and the VDP. He acknowledged that this initiative would enhance the working conditions of the volunteers and encouraged other associations to emulate this example.

Brigade Commander Souleymane Ouattara expressed gratitude to the donors for their assistance. He hoped for the restoration of peace across the national territory so that future contributions could focus on other development sectors.

Hamado Sanan©, the deputy head of the VDP in the commune, expressed thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries to the PDS, security forces, and AHJDCS for their ongoing support. He highlighted that such acts of solidarity uplift the morale of VDP members in the field and called for unity among the population, invoking divine blessings upon the donors.

Denis Souman©, the secretary of AHJDCS, explained that the initiative followed an appeal by the PDS. He expressed gratitude to all contributors who helped mobilize the materials, hoping for divine rewards for their efforts and a proliferation of such actions serving peace and security in the municipality.
