Poni: The inter-class cup of the Director of the General Education College (CEG) of Banlo in the commune of Bouroum-Bouroum was launched on Wednesday on the grounds of the said establishment, with a gala match between students and teachers. The inaugural match, played in a friendly and fair-play atmosphere, ended in a victory for the teachers with a score of 1-0. For the occasion, the teachers traded their chalk for cleats to face their students, to the cheers of a large crowd who came to support both teams.
According to Burkina Information Agency, at the end of the meeting, the Director of the CEG of Banlo, Patrice Hien, recalled that this initiative aims to strengthen social cohesion, living together and fraternity within the establishment, while promoting the detection and promotion of sporting talents. He emphasized that sport remains a school of discipline, respect for rules and solidarity. "The smooth running of this competition will help to relieve stress, forget current worries and bring joy to the students," he said.
For his part, the Physical Education and Sports teacher, Alidou Savadogo, welcomed the effective launch of the tournament and expressed his commitment to supporting all the teams throughout the competition, which is scheduled to take place over several weeks. Through this inter-class Cup, the CEG of Banlo reaffirmed its commitment to using sport as a tool for education, personal development and strengthening ties within the educational community.
