The NGO ASMADE provides a half-yearly review of the activities of the IHS projectLéo, (AIB) - Faced with Léo health stakeholders, the Songui Manegré Association - endogenous development aid (ASMADE) presented on Thursday April 25, 2024 to Léo, the assessment of the implementation of the activities of the year 3 of the Integrated Heath Services (IHS) project. This meeting was chaired by the District Health Physician (MCD), Dr Aboubacary Abdou.In terms of the activities carried out, it appears that the project carried out communications actions for social and behavioral change in communities, through the creation of husbands' schools, youth teen clubs and WhatsApp groups.In the opinion of Léo's MCD, Dr Aboubacary Abdou, the implementation of all communication activities made it possible to bring about changes in social behavior.Dr Abdou indicated that the commitments made by the communities through the implementation of sanitation days and bridges to allow the populations' access to health services are all actions which have made it possible to raise the indicators and contribute to reducing the maternal neonatal and infant deaths.For him, the implementation of the IHS project complements the actions already carried out on the ground by the Léo district, in terms of offering quality care to the populations.This biannual review meeting of the activities of the 3rd year of the NGO ASMADE brought together members of the Léo health district team, the head nurses of the post as well as the presidents of the CSPS management committees and community representatives. .In addition to the assessment, this meeting was an opportunity for stakeholders to make suggestions and contributions to improve the implementation of project activities.This involves, among other things, making the reports available within the CSPS and the health district, and discussing the choice of themes with the head nurses.The stakeholders are committed to supporting the project to achieve the expected objectives for the benefit of th e health well-being of the communities concerned.The IHS project aims to reduce mortality and morbidity linked to malaria. Scheduled for a period of 5 years, it was financed by a consortium of donors to the tune of one million US dollars, or approximately 600 million FCFA.The project is being implemented in three regions of the country including the Center-West.Source: Burkina Information Agency
