Boulgou: The village of Songo won the final of the Zabr King's Cup on Saturday, August 22, 2026, defeating Bougr with a score of 1-0. Launched on July 11, the competition brought together 16 teams from the communes of Zabr, Zoaga, Gon-Boussougou, and Ziou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the grand final took place at the Zabr stadium in the presence of His Majesty Naaba Kougri, chief of the canton of Zabr. He attended to encourage the players and congratulate the promoters and all involved in the competition's success. The canton chief was accompanied by Jacques Gouba, the first vice-president of the special delegation of Zabr, along with heads of services and village chiefs.

Harouna Gouba, speaking on behalf of His Majesty Naaba Kougri, commended Groupe Uni and FondEquipe for organizing the event, which fostered community unity through football. He extended thanks to attendees from various delegations who traveled for the final.

Jacques Gouba, representing the president of the special delegation of Zabr, expressed, "Zabr wins," and encouraged fair play and social cohesion among the teams. He thanked the visiting delegations and wished for a successful sporting event.

Issaka Gouba, chairman of the organizing committee, acknowledged the contributions of all teams in creating the first chapter of the Cup's history. He expressed gratitude to the canton chief and the competition's partners.

The final match comprised two 30-minute halves. Songo scored in the 11th minute of the second half, maintaining the lead against Bougr despite their efforts to equalize. Songo's victory secured them the trophy for this edition.

Throughout the competition, 32 matches were played. Songo received 200,000 FCFA, jerseys, the trophy, gold medals, and two balls. Bougr, as the runner-up, earned 150,000 FCFA, jerseys, silver medals, and a ball. The third-place team, Sangou, was awarded 100,000 FCFA, jerseys, and a ball, while the fourth-place finisher received 50,000 FCFA and a ball.
