Sourgou: The commune of Sourgou commemorated National Tree Day on Saturday by planting various species, AIB observed. Under the leadership of the Prefect, President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Inoussa Ouedraogo, a planting operation was organized within the Preschool Studies Center (CEP) of the locality.
According to Burkina Information Agency, it was in an atmosphere of citizen mobilization that the local authorities, heads of services, the head of the basic education district (CCEB), Kabouga Nagnon/Nion, as well as representatives of the parents of students and the populations, participated in this environmental tradition. Between 8am and 9am, several species of trees were planted within the grounds of the school complex.
This action aims to strengthen the vegetation cover and improve the living environment within this preschool education establishment. The Sourgou District Commissioner, Inoussa Ouedraogo, praised the strong turnout of participants, seeing it as evidence of a collective commitment to nature conservation. He also urged all stakeholders not to limit their efforts to simple planting, but to ensure rigorous monitoring to guarantee the survival and maintenance of the seedlings, a key to a lasting contribution to protecting the environment of our beloved country.
