Special Delegation of Koti Inaugurates New Classrooms at Tuy County High School

Ouagadougou: The special delegation of Koti provides the county high school with three classrooms for the benefit of the departmental high school. The ceremony brought together administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, parents, teachers, and students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the special municipal delegation of Koti has provided the departmental high school with a new educational infrastructure. This consists of a building with three electrified classrooms equipped with desks and benches. The overall estimated cost of the project is 24,088,476 CFA francs, financed by the municipality's own funds and the local mining development fund.

The infrastructure was officially inaugurated in the presence of local authorities and stakeholders in the education sector of the municipality. The president of the special municipal delegation of Koti, Lassinan Dierma, stated that the municipal authorities responded to the requests of the stakeholders of the high school regarding the shortage of classrooms. He explained that the infrastructure project was spread over three fiscal years (2023, 2024, and 2025) due to insufficient municipal funds. The costs for the three halls were 6,777,330 FCFA, 8,794,055 FCFA, and 8,517,091 FCFA respectively.

Mr. Dierma expressed hope that this infrastructure would improve the learning conditions of students and the working conditions of teachers. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of it and to take care of its maintenance. Recognizing that this does not entirely solve the problem of classroom shortages, he called on the community and partners to invest more in the high school.

The principal of the Koti departmental high school, Alassane Lengani, expressed gratitude to the municipal authorities for constructing these infrastructures, describing them as a testament to the educational team's commitment. He assured that the classrooms would be used exclusively for student success.

Staff representative Abdoul-Matino Sissao also thanked those involved in the construction of the classrooms, noting that these infrastructures alleviate the problem of classroom shortages and improve teaching and learning conditions within the high school. On behalf of the learners, student Malika Ouattara pledged to preserve this asset for future generations.

The ceremony was marked by a tour of the new classrooms by officials. The building was named "Koti Communal Special Delegation Building" and each classroom bears the name of three high school principals, in recognition of their involvement in the project.
