Student-Entrepreneur Village Aims to Boost Young Project Leaders in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou:Gounghin The third edition of the Student-Entrepreneur Village was launched at the Higher School of Commerce and Management Information Technology (ESCO-IGES) with the goal of enhancing the visibility of young entrepreneurs and supporting student projects. This initiative, running from October 9 to 10, 2026, includes panels, conferences, masterclasses, and exhibitions to aid in the development of students' initiatives.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Issouf Seganam Ouédraogo, the promoter and director of Bayrak Group, stated that the event aims to facilitate connections between young project leaders and potential partners and sponsors, creating opportunities for support and collaboration.

Participants in the event will have the opportunity to engage in various activities, including panels and conferences, and to explore exhibited products and services. The program also features screenings and presentations to showcase partner and exhibitor offerings. Additionally, an enrollment session for the identity card of the Alliance of Sahel States is organized with the assistance of the National Identification Office in Ouagadougou.

Jean-Baptiste Zoungrana, Director General of ESCO-IGES and the sponsor of this edition, praised the dedication of young people to student entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of students integrating their academic training with entrepreneurial projects, encouraging the development of businesses beyond traditional employment.

Zoungrana highlighted the need for innovation and finding solutions to societal challenges, urging students to persist in their project development. He also underscored the importance of enhancing the skills and civic responsibility of young people to foster a conscious and engaged youth contributing to the progress of Burkina Faso.
