Kabinou: The Assemblies of God church of Kabinou, in the commune of Ramongo, is celebrating the 40th session of its International Week of Prayer from April 7 to 11, 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this edition is held under the theme of gratitude, drawing hundreds of faithful who gather to pray for peace in Burkina Faso and the AES region. The theme, "My soul, bless the Lord! And forget not all his benefits," signifies four decades of continuous spiritual intercession by the church.
The event is described as a jubilee of testimonies and gratitude towards the pioneers of this faith gathering. Host pastor Samuel Kabor© and Mama Suzanne Zongo of Saria are leading the event, which has attracted pilgrims from across Burkina Faso and the sub-region. The main speaker, Pastor Fran§ois Zongo of Boulmiougou Barrage, guides the faithful through moments of preaching, worship, and praise, supported by performances from local choirs.
Reverend Dr. Etienne Zongo, President of the General Council of the Assemblies of God of Burkina Faso, and David Yameogo, President of the Regional Council of Koudougou, are present to bless the gathering. In light of ongoing security challenges, participants have voiced prayers for a return to stability in Burkina Faso and the Sahel Alliance region.
The church has also integrated a health component into the celebration. A medical team from the Silo© Health Center in Boulmiougou Barrage provides free services to residents and conference attendees, including screenings for cervical cancer and hepatitis B, blood glucose testing, and eye exams.
Over the past forty years, the Kabinou Week of Prayer has emerged as a symbol of unity and fraternity. Church leaders emphasize that this initiative reaffirms the Christian community's commitment to working towards a peaceful Burkina Faso, grounded in solidarity and communal harmony.
