Ouagadougou: The government authorized on Wednesday the signing of a public-private partnership (PPP) agreement with the company Alliance and Co for the production of secure biometric consular cards for the benefit of Burkinabè nationals living in Republic of Ivory Coast.The government 'signed its agreement for the signing of a public-private partnership agreement with the company Alliance and Co for the production of secure biometric consular cards for the benefit of Burkinabè nationals living in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire,' indicates the report from the council of ministers this Wednesday.According to the same source, the government of Burkina Faso signed on September 11, 2013, a public-private partnership agreement with the company SNEDAI-BURKINA for the production of secure consular cards.'Out of a forecast of 3,050,000 cards, the said company only produced 1,945,077 cards, by the project deadline of September 10, 2023,' regrets the document.In view of the difficulties encountered in the implem entation of the project, the government decided not to renew the SNEDAI-BURKINA contract.'Negotiations were held with the company Alliance and Co with a view to concluding a contract for the continued production of secure PPP consular cards,' he adds.The government also instructed the ministers responsible for the file to take appropriate measures to eliminate the liabilities of the contract for the production of consular cards with SNEDAI-BURKINA, reassures the report of the council of ministers.Source: Burkina Information Agency
