Kongoussi: The raising of the national colors under the banner of patriotic commitment

The High Commission of the province of Ziro hosted, this Tuesday morning, the traditional ceremony of raising the national colors, presided over by the High Commissioner of the province, Saba Zorome, in the presence of the heads of the decentralized services of the State, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), as well as representatives of civil society organizations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, organized in a convivial yet solemn atmosphere, provided a forum for discussions on administrative matters and development initiatives undertaken in the province. Addressing the audience, the High Commissioner presented a positive assessment of recent activities conducted in Ziro. He particularly welcomed the successful implementation of civic and patriotic education programs for middle school students and commended the commitment and sense of duty of the Defense and Security Forces who ensured their success.

Mr. Zorome also congratulated all provincial stakeholders for their strong mobilization within the framework of the DEMA SIRA solidarity campaign, which raised over 2.3 million CFA francs in donations of various kinds. "Your commitment has made our province the top contributor," he remarked.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the province's top official called for greater ownership of the national anthem in national languages, with a view to promoting indigenous cultural values. "It is time we learned to sing our anthem in national languages," he urged.

Finally, emphasizing the crucial importance of civic and patriotic education in strengthening civic responsibility and social cohesion, the High Commissioner announced his intention to extend this initiative to all qualified public servants in the province. To this end, he instructed the Defense and Security Forces to develop a specific program for its implementation throughout the entire province.

This flag-raising ceremony thus reaffirmed the commitment of the administrative authorities, the Defense and Security Forces, and the people of Ziro to promoting the values of patriotism, discipline, and social cohesion, essential for strengthening community cohesion and the harmonious development of the province.
