Nando: Yassia Ou©draogo, the newly appointed regional director of construction for the nation, was officially installed in his role during a ceremony presided over by the Secretary General of the Nando region, Lucien Guenguer©, in Koudougou. The event marked a significant administrative transition with the creation of the Regional Directorate of Homeland Construction (DRCP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, Yassia Ou©draogo, a design engineer in Civil Engineering, was appointed by the Council of Ministers on March 19, 2026. He is tasked with overseeing the State's policy on infrastructure, urban planning, and housing in the Nando region. Ou©draogo previously served as the regional director of infrastructure and development for the same locality.
The establishment of the DRCP signifies an institutional merger, combining the roles of the former Ministry of Urban Planning and Housing with those of Infrastructure. This merger has expanded Ou©draogo's responsibilities, as he now manages the urban planning portfolio that was previously under the leadership of Yacouba Belem. Belem was commended for his leadership and collaborative efforts during his tenure at the regional directorate of urban planning and housing.
Secretary General Lucien Guenguer© extended his congratulations to the outgoing director, Yacouba Belem, acknowledging his contributions and wishing him well in his future endeavors. Guenguer© expressed confidence in Ou©draogo's abilities to handle the challenges of the merged ministry, emphasizing the importance of his mission for the people of Nando.
The installation ceremony was attended by regional authorities, customary leaders, and various stakeholders in the building and public works sector, all showing support for the new Regional Director.
