Hygiene Police Shut Down Brothels in Gourcy Over Regulation Breaches

Gourcy: The Gourcy Public Health Police Brigade has enforced the closure of eight pass rooms due to non-compliance with existing regulations. The initiative aims to ensure that local establishments adhere to the legal standards set for their operations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the brigade commenced its activities in January by conducting awareness-raising visits to various restaurants, kiosks, and bars in Gourcy. This initial phase focused on educating establishment owners about the necessary compliance measures.

Following the awareness phase, the brigade intensified its efforts by ordering the shutdown of several gambling dens, which were situated near drinking establishments or maquis. These actions were based on the regulations that prohibit such establishments from hosting gambling activities.

Overall, eight drinking establishments in Gourcy, each having pass rooms, were impacted by this regulatory enforcement, reflecting the brigade's commitment to maintaining public health standards in the community.
