Ouagadougou: The National Police hands over the reins to the National Gendarmerie in a significant ceremony marking a new chapter in the security operations of Yargatenga. According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special delegation of Yargatenga, Jean Sar, conveyed his appreciation to the police, led by Captain Fidele Tiendrebeogo, for their steadfast role in combating terrorism and assisting the community with administrative tasks. Sar acknowledged the police's dedication and the positive influence they have had since their deployment in the area.
The newly established Gendarmerie in Yargatenga was warmly received by local officials. Adjutant-Chief Soni Benaon, leader of the new gendarmerie brigade, expressed gratitude for the reception and emphasized the need for cooperation. He highlighted that unity and collaboration with residents are crucial for the success of their mission.
Chief Commissioner Eric Sawadogo, the provincial police director of Koulpelogo, commended the achievements of the Yargatenga police station. He noted Captain Tiendrebeogo's recognition as the best police officer of 2023, underscoring the station's progress in reclaiming territory and securing the commune.
Lieutenant-Colonel Adama Sawadogo, from the General Staff of the National Gendarmerie, expressed satisfaction with the warm welcome given to the Gendarmerie. He stressed the significance of collaboration between security forces and the populace in ensuring peace and security across the nation.
