Ouagadougou: The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, has launched a national campaign titled “D?m? Sira” or “The Way of Solidarity” in Ouagadougou. This initiative aims to foster mutual aid and strengthen societal bonds across the country.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized that “D?m? Sira” reflects the essence of the Burkinabe people, who are known for their resilience and strong attachment to traditional values of solidarity. In his address, Ouedraogo highlighted that the nation’s strength lies not only in its institutions but also in the fraternal bonds and mutual support among its citizens, particularly during challenging times.
Ouedraogo noted that in light of current security and humanitarian challenges, the nation is focusing on unity and a future built on dignity and shared responsibility. The campaign is seen as a tangible expression of solidarity, a core value integral to the collective identity of Burkina Faso.
The Prime Minister also praised the spontaneous initiatives by various societal groups, such as families, young people, women, and religious leaders, who actively support internally displaced persons and communities in distress.
The Minister of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, Commander Pelagie Kabore, emphasized that solidarity is essential for Burkina Faso’s future, urging citizens to transform “D?m? Sira” into a continuous movement for a united and resilient nation. Kabore expressed confidence in the people’s ability to overcome challenges through humanity and courage. She mentioned that the campaign draws inspiration from the country’s traditions and aims to prioritize human-centered national goals.
The campaign will be rolled out across all regions, involving community actions, blood donations, shared meals, and other activities designed to reinforce social cohesion. A symbolic torch of solidarity will be passed among governors to promote unity throughout the nation.
