Ouagadougou: The 20th edition of Digital Week, themed 'Artificial intelligence at the heart of digital transformation', is in full swing with several major innovations, including robotics, which attracts many visitors every day. Various innovations are on the program of activities for this 20th edition of Digital Week (SN), currently taking place at the Ouagadougou International Arts and Crafts Fair (SIAO).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event showcases a range of technologies such as humanoid robots, quadrupeds, robot kits, and futuristic glasses that allow users to visualize Burkina Faso's future by 2030. Startup villages are also featured, bringing together the work of young innovators across multiple sectors.
Franck Ben Sawadogo, a computer design engineer at the Ministry in charge of Digital Transition, expressed the initiative's goal is to present the robots to the public and facilitate interaction. "Our department's initiative, which draws many visitors daily, helps motivate young people to take an interest in robotics technology," he stated from his exhibition stand. Sawadogo highlighted the international collaboration involved, explaining, "These robots are manufactured and assembled in China and can be programmed according to specifications and needs, with local expertise involved in programming."
The event also features innovative contributions from local talents like video game designer Haroun Yasser Sangare, who is showcasing glasses of the future that allow visualization of Burkina Faso's destination in 2030. Meanwhile, P School's sales assistant, Salimata Sabo, detailed her organization's participation with robot kits aimed at introducing children to robotics, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence in making learning fun and engaging.
Mathias Ansaba Some, from the Faso Maths design team, reported the implementation of a digital pedagogy to aid students in their math exercises. Some revealed that his organization has developed applications containing mathematical questions to facilitate students' work.
The event, which began on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, under the theme "Artificial intelligence at the heart of digital transformation," will conclude on Friday, November 21, 2025.
