Boulgou Municipality Launches Civic and Patriotic Training for Students

Boulgou: The municipality of Zabre launches civic and patriotic training. The president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Zabre, Alain Boubie Bassano, officially initiated the Civic and Patriotic Supervision (ECP) and close order training for secondary school students on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the departmental high school of Zabre. This initiative aims to engage students from intermediate classes in civic education and patriotic activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch ceremony was attended by members of the special delegation of Zabre, including Harouna Gouba, the representative of the chief of the canton of Zabre, Basile Gouba, the village development advisor of Zabre, and Djibril Doulkoum, the commander of the gendarmerie brigade of Zabre. The initiative is designed to align with a national effort to educate students in high schools and colleges across Burkina Faso on civic education, patriotic commitment, and discipline.

Alain Boubie Bassano emphasized that this initiative follows the announcement made by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, on April 1, 2025, regarding the Popular Progressive Revolution. The initiative expects exemplary civic behavior from the youth to contribute to building a strong nation. He highlighted that civic education is aimed at developing responsible citizens who are aware of their rights and duties and are committed to patriotic values.

Regarding the close order, the PDS mentioned that it aims to instill discipline, respect for state symbols, and promote team spirit, social cohesion, and living together. He encouraged students to embrace this training and align with the political vision of the President of Faso, appreciating the support of the national gendarmerie in overseeing the program.

Naaba Kougri Harouna Gouba, representing the chief of the canton of Zabre, endorsed the initiative and encouraged students to participate actively to gain the most from the training. On behalf of the canton chief, he extended blessings for the successful execution of the activities.

The authorities present at the event expressed optimism that the training would lead to a positive behavioral change among the participants. The training, which started on January 15th, is scheduled to conclude on February 24th, 2026, and will be conducted on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Saturday evenings, in accordance with the students' homework schedules.
