The event, which commenced on March 6, 2026, was centered around the theme "Health, Law, and Empowerment: Three Essential Pillars for Sustainable Community Development in L©raba."

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Kotto Yiriwa association organized this symposium as part of its annual activities, aimed at promoting women in the Tannounyan region. Historically held in Banfora, the capital of the region, this year marks the first time the event has been relocated to Sindou, reflecting a strategic move to engage the local community directly.

The three-day symposium includes a variety of activities designed to empower participants. These activities feature thematic and communication panels, inclusive finance training facilitated by the Agency for the Promotion of Inclusive Finance, a health awareness campaign, and a screening and vaccination campaign targeting hepatitis and HPV. Additionally, practical training sessions in dyeing are being offered to 30 young participants.

Fatouma Coulibaly, president of the Kotto Yiriwa association, emphasized the importance of the event in bringing together women and youth, who are often considered vulnerable groups. The symposium aims to educate them about entrepreneurship and encourage the development of skills necessary for initiating and managing projects aligned with the popular progressive revolution.

Mr. Coulibaly also announced future plans to launch a skills competition, which will involve pre-selection of project ideas. This initiative intends to support the formalization and implementation of promising projects within the community.

High Commissioner Yacouba Sawadogo expressed gratitude towards the Kotto Yiriwa association for choosing L©raba as the location for this important colloquium. He assured continued support for initiatives aimed at the socio-economic development of women and youth in the province.
