Nakambe Towns Celebrate Cultural Heritage at Tam-Tam Festival of Hope

Nakambe: The towns of Koupela and Tenkodogo resonated with the rhythm of traditions during the Tam-Tam Festival of Hope as the 4th edition of the Tam-Tam de l'Espoir Festival caravan unfolded on May 15 and 16, 2026. This event brought together local populations, authorities, and cultural actors to promote traditional Burkinab¨ heritage.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the festival was organized by the Fi¨re Faso association in the city of Zoungrantenga (Tenkodogo) and the town of Naaba Zanre (Koupela). This restitution activity highlighted the talent of about thirty children trained in traditional music and dance, emphasizing the importance of transmitting cultural knowledge in the Nakambe region.

The event was marked by several educational and civic activities. The National Museum of Burkina Faso presented an exhibition titled "Thomas Sankara, the return," while the National Road Safety Office took the opportunity to raise awareness among the population about respecting road safety rules.

A local company contributed to the caravan's entertainment by offering energy drinks and chips to participants. Over the course of the two days, the Tam-Tam Festival of Hope mobilized more than 1,800 people across the two sites and recorded the presence of several administrative and customary authorities who came to support this initiative in favor of youth and the safeguarding of cultural traditions.
