Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, on behalf of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, officially opened eight strategic road axes in the Burkinabe capital on Saturday, built for more than 40 billion FCFA to improve urban mobility and support the country's economic and security development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of State Construction, Mikailou Sidib©, stated that the inaugurated infrastructure projects encompass approximately 22 kilometers of modern roads, representing an investment of over 40 billion FCFA. These projects include the Northern Ring Road, the Moogho Naaba and Yennenga boulevards, as well as several access roads to defense and security infrastructure.
Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo highlighted that these developments signify an important step in the modernization of the capital Ouagadougou, especially with the completion of the Northern Ring Road, which now allows for the full completion of the Tansoba circular boulevard. "Today, we can truly speak of a circular because the loop is now closed," the Prime Minister declared.
The head of government emphasized that the new infrastructures will facilitate traffic flow, enhance mobility conditions, and support multiple sectors, including trade, transport, and the national economy. He urged users and local residents to be civic-minded and cautious to preserve these public investments, warning against speeding which could lead to tragic accidents.
Prime Minister Ou©draogo assured that investments in infrastructure will continue, as the issue of roads remains a priority under the leadership of the President of Faso. He reiterated the importance of roads in the popular progressive revolution.
Minister of Construction of the Fatherland, Mikalou Sidib©, expressed that these works embody "the vision of a sovereign, resilient Burkina Faso turned towards progress". He commended the efforts of all individuals involved in the project, including his predecessor Luc Adama Sorgho, financial partners, companies, and technical stakeholders, noting that these developments will help reduce accidents and bolster economic activity.
