Nouna:Koosin The High Commissioner of the Koosin province, Noufo Dembélé, urged land stakeholders to emphasize consultation, transparency, and adherence to regulations during the implementation of the new law on Agrarian and Land Reorganization (RAF). This call was made during the first ordinary session of the regional committee for land security held in Nouna.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session provided a platform to discuss the key changes introduced by Law No. 015-2025/ALT. These changes include full state ownership of land and the acknowledgment of rights for communities and individuals. The law also addresses the resettlement of forcibly displaced persons and victims of natural disasters, along with governing land transfers to foreign entities.
Noufo Dembélé emphasized that land governance should be based on clear, universally understood rules. He encouraged committee members to collaboratively ensure the RAF law's successful implementation through consultation and transparency.
Participants of the session agreed on the importance of understanding and applying the law to prevent land conflicts and secure investments. They acknowledged the collective responsibility of managing land for the benefit of current and future generations, with the major challenge being the law's effective application in practice.
