Kaya: The Burkinabe Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Quality (ABNORM) organized an information and awareness workshop on good hygiene practices and control for socio-economic actors in the Koulse region on Thursday in Kaya. This workshop enabled ABNORM to raise awareness among socio-economic actors in the Koulse region about the importance of quality for the prosperity of organizations, the promotion of innovation, customer satisfaction, and the continuous improvement of products and services.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the theme of this World Day, "Quality: Thinking Differently," aims, according to the director of metrology, Issa Sawadogo, representing the director general of ABNORM, to encourage the abandonment of rigid methods by promoting the integration of innovative and inclusive management practices.
For the representative of the regional director in charge of industries in Koulse, Cheick Abdoul Karim Ouedraogo, this theme reflects a desire for adaptation and resilience in the face of global challenges.
The workshop was marked by three presentations on the presentation of ABNORM, good hygiene practices in agri-food processing units, and metrological control of pre-packaged products and road distributors.
The interactive exchanges facilitated by ABNORM experts helped to strengthen the participants' understanding of standards and practices. For the participants, holding this session was beneficial as it will help to improve their products.
"Quality is an essential lever for our companies in a context where consumers are increasingly demanding," said Alassane Pafadnam, a processor in Kaya. He explained that the new knowledge acquired will allow them to strengthen the quality of their products.
ABNORM plays a leading role in promoting quality and implementing standards that guarantee consumer safety and the competitiveness of Burkinabe businesses. World Quality Day is celebrated every year on the second Thursday of November. According to the director of metrology, the choice of Kaya for this year's event aligns with ABNORM's decentralization efforts to bring quality initiatives closer to local communities and businesses.
