Burkina Faso Makes Significant Progress with Installation of Nuclear Program Committee

Ouagadougou: The Secretary General of the Presidency of Faso, Zakaria Sore, has inaugurated 49 members of the committee responsible for implementing Burkina Faso's Nuclear Power Program. This development marks a pivotal advancement in the nation's pursuit of energy sovereignty, a key priority under President Captain Ibrahim Traore's leadership.According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Sore emphasized the importance of this committee as a crucial step in realizing the nuclear power program. He remarked, "The committee we have just installed is essential to allow the nuclear power program to function. It is a key step that must give concrete impetus to its realization."The newly established committee comprises 49 experts from varied social and administrative backgrounds, including coordinator Harouna Sawadogo and secretary general Idrissa Sessouma. These members are expected to promptly become operational, taking charge of setting strategic directions, conducting thorough analyses, and proposing actionab le measures to ensure the program's success.The committee's duties will focus on several critical areas, including generating technical analyses for informed decision-making, developing practical guidelines for program implementation, and conducting public awareness campaigns about nuclear power issues.Coordinator Harouna Sawadogo, appointed during the same ceremony, acknowledged the significant responsibility placed on the committee. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with a broader vision rooted in national sovereignty, patriotism, and socio-economic development.The committee members are tasked with structuring, managing, and coordinating all necessary actions for the program's success.
