K niamey: OULPLOGO/YARGATENGA: The young people of the second class of the Compulsory Patriotic Immersion (IPO) of the commune of Yargatenga mobilized on Saturday in Cinkans for a day of public and civic sanitation. Armed with machetes, hoes, rakes, and brooms, the conscripts began work at the Cinkans Medical Centre (CMC), where they collected plastic bags and weeded the entire health area.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Idrissou Yaguiba, on behalf of the medical staff, commended the work done by the conscripts. "You have made our center much cleaner. We encourage your initiative. May it continue like this," he said, offering encouragement to the organizers. After completing their tasks at the medical center, the conscripts moved to the Gendarmerie Brigade and the Customs Service to continue their cleanup efforts.

Chief Warrant Officer Philippe Traor, deputy commander of the Cinkans Brigade, welcomed the initiative, noting it reflects the values learned during the IPO. He urged the young people to maintain these teachings to become builders of Burkina Faso. "Be humble, resilient, and supportive of one another, within your families, and in society. Life is not always easy. Don't fall into vice and the easy way out," he advised.

The spokesperson for the conscripts, Bassirou Koanda, expressed pride in participating in the IPO. He stated that this clean-up day is a manifestation of the values instilled during the training. "We are ready and we are committed to the struggle for the sovereignty and independence of our country," he declared. He called on all Burkinabe, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, to cultivate patriotism and peace. He also urged young people to be disciplined, respect the highway code, wear helmets, and contribute to the country's development.

The objective of the activity was to clean up public places, contribute to disease prevention, and strengthen civic responsibility for a healthy living environment.
