Youth Mobilized to Clean Up Public Services

Niamey: The youth of the commune of Koper, in the province of Ioba, participated on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in a sanitation day organized in the premises of the town hall, the Basic Education District (CEB), and the prefecture of Koper.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was led by Bruno Poda, head of the youth promotion and professional integration service in the municipality of Koper, in collaboration with the heads of associations and cooperatives. The participants, mainly young people from the municipality, carried out the cleaning and sanitation of the three administrative sites, which welcome many users daily.

At the end of the work, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Koper, Zakaria Dao, praised the mobilization of the young people and congratulated them for their civic engagement. He encouraged them to maintain this patriotic spirit and to continue sanitation efforts for the benefit of the community's development.

The PDS also invited the population to destroy larval breeding grounds and to regularly clean their living environments, in preparation for the second phase of the National Vector Control Days (JN-LAV), scheduled for September 5 and 6, 2026. In the spirit of this citizen mobilization, Bruno Poda announced the organization of a second day of sanitation, scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the five Health and Social Promotion Centers (CSPS) of the municipality.

For his part, the head of the Koper basic education district, Jean Marie Kambou, welcomed the initiative and praised the community's mobilization. He urged the youth to maintain their unity and spirit of solidarity in order to contribute further to improving the living conditions in the municipality. This mobilization around sanitation reflects the desire of local actors to make sanitation and citizen engagement levers for the development of the municipality of Koper.
