Sansan Fran§ois d'Assise Kambou was appointed by the Council of Ministers on December 17, 2025, succeeding Divisional Customs Inspector Enock Yamogo, who has retired after 39 years of effective service within the customs administration.

In his speech, the new regional director expressed his gratitude to God and to his supervisory authorities, including the Minister of Economy and Finance and the Director General of Customs, for the trust placed in him. He acknowledged the strong turnout for the ceremony, particularly appreciating the regional governor's presence, which he described as a great honor.

Mr. Kambou outlined three main objectives for his tenure: the optimal mobilization of customs revenues to support national development, combating fraud and protecting the economy and public health, and contributing to the reconquest of national territory in collaboration with defense and security forces.

He called for support from regional authorities and emphasized the collective nature of the customs mission, paying tribute to his predecessor for his exemplary career and expressing hopes for peace, security, and social cohesion in 2026.

The outgoing regional director, Enock Yamogo, leaves behind a commendable record, with customs revenue mobilization rates exceeding 100% from 2022 to 2025, significant achievements in fighting fraud, drug trafficking, and insecurity, as well as gains in infrastructure and equipment.

Kodjo Bakieka, head of the Dibougou customs brigade, assured the staff's full availability to meet future challenges alongside their new leader.

Governor Siaka Barro, presiding over the ceremony, congratulated Mr. Yamogo on his 39 years of service and achievements, encouraging the new director to consolidate these gains and enhance revenue through sound governance, while urging all stakeholders to support him.

This transition marks a new phase characterized by unity, collaboration, and the continuity of public service.
