Koosin: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Dokuy, Abdoul Ouahhido Sibiri 2 Guingane, visited the Kolonidara Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) to inquire about the working conditions of the staff. He commended their efforts before listening to the main concerns of the healthcare workers.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the purpose of the visit by Mr. Guingane was to observe firsthand the working conditions of healthcare staff and to exchange information with local stakeholders on the operation of the center, which opened on October 3rd. Welcomed by the office of the Management Committee (COGES), Mr. Guingane expressed his satisfaction with the work accomplished since the opening of the center and thanked all the staff for their dedication to serving the community.
Under the guidance of the head of the CSPS, Major Hippolyte Yaro, the PDS visited various facilities, identifying difficulties hindering the proper functioning of the center. Among the main concerns raised, Major Yaro cited the lack of electricity, despite an installation already in place, and the absence of a water pump, forcing residents to dig a well to supply the center.
Major Yaro also highlighted the lack of incinerators for managing medical waste. He stressed the need to acquire a baby scale, an essential tool for monitoring newborns, which the CSPS does not currently have. Additionally, he argued for increased staffing: as the only nurse on duty, his absences leave the midwife alone to provide the service.
While awaiting official reinforcement, Major Yaro requested the provision of a support agent and mentioned the need to build new accommodation to anticipate the arrival of new agents. In response to these concerns, Mr. Guingane reassured the staff of his willingness to work towards improving working conditions within the CSPS. He praised the commitment of the major and COGES, while promising to provide support in the search for sustainable solutions.
