Kaya: The governor of the Kuils© region, Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ou©draogo, motivated a group of new high school graduates at the private Sainte Th©r¨se d'Avila college in Kaya as part of the country's compulsory patriotic immersion program for 2025. The program, which began on August 10, 2025, involves 60,000 graduates nationwide and aims to instill civic awareness and patriotic values.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the high school graduates, along with their supervisors, welcomed Colonel-Major Ou©draogo on Wednesday morning, August 13, 2025. The visit included a traditional daily raising of the colors, accompanied by a choral rendition of the national anthem, the ditany¨. This event was attended by administrative, military, and paramilitary authorities, as well as secondary education stakeholders.
Under the flag, attendees listened to a speech by President Captain Ibrahim Traor©, which was synchronized from the Ouagadougou site and broadcast across all Kaya sites. In his address, the President highlighted the program's role in cultivating a generation that is conscious of its national duties. He urged the youth to uphold the fundamental values of Burkina Faso, such as solidarity, integrity, and patriotism, and encouraged them to engage actively in the nation's reconstruction efforts.
Colonel-Major Ou©draogo stressed the significance of the initiative in developing loyal patriots committed to their country's future. He advised supervisors to dedicate themselves to nurturing these young individuals, comparing their role to that of a blacksmith shaping tools. The patriotic immersion program will continue until September 11, 2025, with the aim of reinforcing participants' commitment to civic values and national unity.
