Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner commends the Tin Ba Association for its contribution to the well-being of the population

The High Commissioner of the Gourma Province, Silas Nacanabo, presided over the launch of the fourth extraordinary provincial consultation framework for Gourma in Fada N'Gourma. He commended the Tin Ba Association for its contribution to the well-being of the population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the consultation framework day brought together all the actors of provincial development around the presentation of the activities carried out by the Tin Ba Association, the new administrative division of Burkina Faso, and the presentation of the Humanitarian Clusters system.

The High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, stated that this fourth extraordinary session of the provincial consultation framework is part of the dynamic of transparency and coordination of interventions by technical and financial partners. He emphasized the need for technical and financial partners working in the province to have this framework to present their actions. He highlighted that the Tin Ba Association has greatly assisted internally displaced persons by providing land for vegetable gardens and various training programs.

The High Commissioner praised Tin Ba's contribution to the well-being of the people of Gourma. He also discussed the new administrative division of the national territory, noting that the Eastern region is now subdivided into three regions, the Sahel region into two, and the Boucle du Mouhoun region also into two, making Burkina Faso now have 17 regions and 47 provinces. He stressed the importance of informing members of the consultation framework about institutional changes to help partners better understand and adapt to the administrative arrangements.

The session also included a presentation on Humanitarian Clusters, which enabled participants to better understand their organization and role in coordinating humanitarian actions. The High Commissioner noted the achievements of these clusters in assisting populations up to June 2025 and expressed gratitude to partners who supported the session, particularly the National Programme for the Development of Resilient Territories (PNTDR) and the Tin Ba Association for their financial support.

He called on other partners to support future sessions of the consultation framework. Participants were encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new administrative structure, master the operation of the Clusters, and effectively use the monitoring and accountability tools available to them. The next session of the provincial consultation framework is scheduled for December 2025 and will focus on the annual programming of activities.
