Zoundweogo: The Joint Committee for Interreligious Dialogue (CMDIR) organized a cleanup day on Saturday at the Manga Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA). The event brought together students from the Association of Muslim Students of Burkina Faso (AEEMB), the Catholic Student Youth (JEC), and the Union of Bible Groups of Burkina Faso (UGBB) to promote the values of peace, interreligious dialogue, and living together.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative aims to "train the leaders of tomorrow, capable of uniting to build a strong and united nation." He emphasized that health is everyone's business, hence the need for collective action.
Representing the district's chief medical officer, the head of the community health promotion service, Francis Ouoba, welcomed this citizen initiative. "This activity will help to improve the healthcare environment. Some diseases are said to be associated with healthcare, which means that if the environment is not healthy, a patient can contract a disease while coming to be treated," he said.
The participants, for their part, congratulated the CMDIR for this action which made the hospital environment cleaner, but also strengthened cohesion between young people of different religious faiths.
The day ended with a forum theatre on interreligious dialogue, living together and tolerance, a moment of exchange and awareness-raising in favour of peace and fraternity.
