Malian Army Ensures Fuel Supply Stabilization Amid Terrorist Threats

Ouagadougou: Fuel supplies to several Malian cities, including the capital Bamako, are gradually returning to normal, thanks to the determination of the Malian army which thwarted terrorist attempts to weaken the national economy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, for several weeks, terrorists have been trying to disrupt the country's fuel supply. But thanks to the bravery and commitment of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), their sinister plan has been thwarted. Under military escort, several convoys of tanker trucks were able to reach various locations, allowing for the resupply of service stations and the restoration of the distribution network.

In Bamako, the long lines at service stations are beginning to shorten, and many drivers have been able to obtain the precious fuel again. Schools and universities, which had suspended their activities, are now operational again. The recovery is also noticeable in the public transport sector.

Malian authorities have praised the efforts of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), which are now providing escorts for strategic convoys on the most exposed routes, particularly those linking Kayes, Sikasso, and Bamako. The government has assured that it will maintain the military escort arrangements and is working to diversify supply routes to prevent any future disruptions.

Another sign of appeasement: the international shipping companies MSC (Italian-Swiss) and CMA-CGM (French), which had temporarily suspended their operations to Mali for security reasons, have resumed their activities. However, the authorities are calling for caution and vigilance, recalling that fully securing supply routes remains a major challenge that the entire Malian people are working to overcome.
