Nahouri: The Muslim community of Nahouri now has its land title, the subject of a dispute, in hand. The president of the Muslim community of Burkina, El hadj Moussa Koanda, presided this Friday, July 18, 2025, at the great mosque of the P´ market, a ceremony of thanks and recognition to the economic operator, Robert Tabass©, who handed over the land title of said mosque, the subject of dispute, without any compensation to the Muslim community of Nahouri.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Muslim community of Nahouri gathered this Friday, July 18, 2025, at the P´ market mosque to thank the economic operator of the province, Robert Tabass©, who held the land title of the mosque located in sector N°5 of P´. This situation was the subject of a large demonstration and protest by the Muslim community of Nahouri.
"We have gathered today to celebrate a successful outcome to a dispute that has pitted the Muslim community against a son of Nahouri, Robert Tabass©, for years," said El Hadj Abdoulaye Gagn© and El Hadj Moussa Koanda, presidents of the Muslim communities of Nahouri and Burkina Faso, respectively. For them, it is a historic day of reconciliation, fraternity, and social cohesion, thanks to the mediation of the highest authorities in this country and also to the spirit of dialogue and generosity of Robert Tabass©.
"This disputed land officially becomes the place of worship of the Muslim community. I am handing over the land title to the Muslim community of Nahouri in the name of social cohesion, living together, and harmony between the communities, without any compensation," Mr. Tabass© emphasized. Upon receiving the land title from Mr. Tabass©, El hadj Moussa Koanda invited the different communities of Burkina to follow the example of P´ to resolve their differences and make Burkina a country of peace, social cohesion and living together.
This mobilization was attended by other religious denominations and leaders of different communities, who came to support the Muslim community in its struggle. It was also an opportunity for the national president of the Muslim community to install the provincial office of around thirty members led by El hadj Abdoulaye Gagn©.
