Ouagadougou: On the occasion of the 4th edition of the National Mining Students Forum (FONEM-BF), opened this Wednesday in Ouagadougou, young graduates from the mining sector explore the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and sustainable development to facilitate their professional integration in a changing sector.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event is organized around the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability: Catalysts for the Employability of Young Graduates in the Mining Sector," and aims to provide a platform for exchanges between students, professionals, and policymakers on the challenges of innovation and professional integration in the mining sector.

Representing Minister Yacouba Zabr© Gouba, who hosted the ceremony, Mr. Boussim urged the students to take full advantage of this forum for reflection. "This forum is yours, but it affects our common future," he said.

As for the representative of the President of the Chamber of Mines, Priscille Payidwend© Zongo, she encouraged young people to take ownership of digital tools, believing that "we are counting on young people who break free from the straitjacket, young people who innovate."

Forum co-sponsor Mose Ou©draogo, Chairman and CEO of LOUDA GROUP, welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of the human factor in leveraging advanced technologies. "It's not machines that will sustain a company, but rather human capital," he said.

For two days, participants will take part in conferences, thematic panels, training sessions and experience sharing on the use of artificial intelligence in the mining sector.

The forum will be held from July 23 to 24, 2025 in Ouagadougou.
