The Raising of National Colors in Dolo Highlights Patriotism and Social Cohesion

Bougouriba: The municipality of Dolo hosted the traditional raising of the national colors within the grounds of the town hall, attended by agents from several decentralized state services and municipal actors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was held in the presence of the prefect, president of the special delegation of the commune of Dolo, Ilassa Ouedraogo. Representatives from the Water and Forestry Department, the Basic Education District (CEB), post-primary and secondary education establishments, the agricultural service, along with school principals, municipal agents, community Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), and agricultural VDPs from Dolo were also present.

The Dolo Departmental Water and Forestry Service ensured the solemn raising of the national flag, led by its station chief, Rene Dabire, in a setting of respect and patriotic fervor. At the conclusion, Ilassa Ouedraogo commended the participants for their mobilization and thanked them for their civic engagement. He emphasized the significance of the flag-raising act as a sign of attachment to the nation and respect for state authority, which mandates the raising of the national flag on the first Monday of each month.

The mayor encouraged department heads to submit their flag-raising ceremony dates to the town hall's general secretariat, aiming to establish better coordination through rotating shifts among municipal departments. Mr. Ouedraogo believes this initiative will enhance social cohesion and foster mutual understanding among public servants in a spirit of collaboration and solidarity.

The event concluded in a friendly atmosphere, marked by fraternal exchanges. The next flag-raising ceremony is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, at the same location in Dolo.
