The Senegalese government on Monday dissolved Pastef, the party of opponent Ousmane Sonko, accusing it of renewed calls for insurrection with serious consequences.

On Facebook, the opponent announced to his supporters that a warrant of committal was issued to him, after his arrest on Friday.

Since Monday morning, violent demonstrations have resumed to demand his release, forcing the government to cut off mobile internet.
